Project Description
The removal of the frozen ground / peat mixture beneath the existing ice rinks to facilitate the installation of new foundations and ice rinks.
The foundation work included accelerated thawing of the frozen ground / peat mixture, installation of steel mini piles, cast-in-place beams and precast hollow-core slabs within the building to support the existing building structure and new rink assemblies.
The Project also included removal and replacement of the refrigerant system and rink assemblies inclusive of sand, insulation, concrete curbs and arena boards.
