Project Description
The removal of the frozen ground / peat mixture beneath the existing ice rink to facilitate the installation of new foundations and ice rink / soccer field.
The foundation work included accelerated thawing of the frozen ground / peat mixture, installation of steel mini piles, cast-in-placee beams and precast hollow-core slabs withing the building to support the existing building structure and the new rink / soccer assemblies.
The Project also included removal and replacement of the refrigerant system and rink assemblies inclusive of sand, insulation, concrete curbs and arena boards.
